- 1 medium Fresh Cucumber (English preferred)
- 2 medium Fresh Lemons
- 1 ounce Fresh Ginger Root (approximately 1-inch piece)
- 8 cups Filtered Water (64 ounces)
- 8–10 leaves Fresh Mint Leaves (optional)
- Ice Cubes as needed for serving
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Wash the cucumber, lemons, and mint thoroughly. Peel the ginger root.
- Slice: Slice the cucumber lengthwise into thin strips. Slice lemons into thin rounds, removing visible seeds. Slice ginger into thin coins or matchsticks.
- Combine: Fill a large pitcher with 8 cups of cold filtered water. Add the cucumber slices, lemon slices, ginger slices, and fresh mint (if using).
- Release Flavors: Gently press the ginger slices and mint leaves with the back of a spoon against the side of the pitcher to release their aromatic oils. Stir gently to distribute.
- Infuse: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours to allow the flavors to develop and infuse fully.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes. Strain the infused water (optional) and pour into glasses. Garnish with fresh slices of cucumber, lemon, or mint from the pitcher.

- Thin Slices: Slice ingredients uniformly thin (about 1/8 inch) to maximize surface area contact and flavor infusion.
- Cold Start: Start with ice-cold water to accelerate the infusion process.
- Bruise Ginger: Gently bruise the ginger slices before adding to the pitcher to intensify the ginger flavor.
- Taste Test: Taste after one hour; continue infusing up to two hours if a stronger flavor is desired.
- Storage Tip: Strain the solid ingredients out before storing the water in the refrigerator to prevent over-infusion and bitterness.
