Ingredients
1 cup coarsely ground coffee
4 cups cold filtered water
1 fine mesh strainer or coffee filter
1 additional coffee filter (optional, for clarity)
Instructions
Rinse the coffee grounds under cold water to remove excess solids
Stir the coarsely ground coffee into the mason jar
Pour cold water over the grounds, ensuring they’re fully submerged
Seal the jar and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours
Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter, pressing lightly to extract liquid
For extra clarity, funnel the concentrate into a glass and filter a second time using a fresh filter
Notes
Adjust the brewing time for stronger or milder flavor
Stirring the grounds before pouring water helps ensure even saturation
Store the concentrate in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks
For sweetened versions, add syrup of choice after straining and before serving with ice
