Ingredients
1.5 lbs lean ground beef or sirloin, thinly sliced
2 cups broccoli florets
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Salt to taste
1/4 cup water or low-sodium beef broth
Instructions
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 1-2 minutes.
Add beef and cook until browned and cooked through.
Stir in soy sauce, honey, and black pepper. Cook for 2 minutes to coat the beef.
Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
Pour in water or broth to deglaze the pan. Simmer for 2-3 minutes while stirring.
Stir in sesame oil and remove from heat.
Notes
Use a non-stick skillet to simplify cleanup and reduce oil use.
Substitute the beef with halal-friendly chicken, tofu, or substitute for a plant-based protein.
For extra flavor, add a splash of vinegar or chili garlic sauce to the sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
