These crabby shrimp stuffed garlic bread bombs feature crispy, buttery garlic bread filled with tender shrimp, savory imitation crab, melted cheese, and creamy seafood flavor.

  • Total Time: 43 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings (16 bombs) 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large pre-made garlic bread loaf
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled, deveined, chopped, and patted dry
  • 8 ounces imitation crab, finely chopped
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
  • 1/4 cup fresh breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Let the garlic bread soften at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  • Pat the chopped shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Combine the softened cream cheese and minced garlic in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Fold in the chopped shrimp and imitation crab until evenly distributed.
  • Add the mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Season with sea salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes, then gently stir until combined.
  • Slice the garlic bread loaf diagonally into 16 pieces, approximately 1.5 inches thick.
  • Create a cavity about 1 inch deep in the center of each bread piece using a small spoon or melon baller.
  • Reserve the removed bread pieces for the topping.
  • Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of seafood filling into each bread cavity.
  • Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the filled bread bombs.
  • Top each bomb with breadcrumbs or crushed reserved bread pieces.
  • Place the filled bombs on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Brush the tops lightly with melted butter.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until the bread is golden brown, the cheese is melted, and the filling reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Cool for 2 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh dill and lemon zest, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

Drain the seafood thoroughly before mixing to keep the bread bombs crispy. Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth filling, avoid overstuffing, and serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
