Ingredients

  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon food-grade baking soda
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 8 ounces filtered water
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon raw honey, optional
  • Pinch of sea salt, optional

Instructions

  1. Squeeze fresh lemon juice into a clear glass until you have 2 to 3 tablespoons.
  2. Pour 8 ounces of filtered room-temperature water into the glass with the lemon juice.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon raw honey if using.
  4. Add a tiny pinch of sea salt if using.
  5. Measure 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of food-grade baking soda.
  6. Add the baking soda directly to the lemon juice and water mixture.
  7. Let the mixture fizz and bubble immediately.
  8. Stir gently with a spoon for 30 seconds until blended.
  9. Drink immediately while the mixture is still fizzy.
  10. Consume on an empty stomach in the morning.
  11. Wait at least 30 to 60 minutes before eating breakfast or drinking coffee.

Notes

Start with 1/4 teaspoon baking soda if you are new to this drink. Do not use baking powder. Drink immediately after mixing and avoid exceeding the suggested amount.
