Ingredients
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon food-grade baking soda
- 2 to 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 8 ounces filtered water
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon raw honey, optional
- Pinch of sea salt, optional
Instructions
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice into a clear glass until you have 2 to 3 tablespoons.
- Pour 8 ounces of filtered room-temperature water into the glass with the lemon juice.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon raw honey if using.
- Add a tiny pinch of sea salt if using.
- Measure 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of food-grade baking soda.
- Add the baking soda directly to the lemon juice and water mixture.
- Let the mixture fizz and bubble immediately.
- Stir gently with a spoon for 30 seconds until blended.
- Drink immediately while the mixture is still fizzy.
- Consume on an empty stomach in the morning.
- Wait at least 30 to 60 minutes before eating breakfast or drinking coffee.
Notes
Start with 1/4 teaspoon baking soda if you are new to this drink. Do not use baking powder. Drink immediately after mixing and avoid exceeding the suggested amount. Consult a healthcare provider before using regularly if you have high blood pressure, heart conditions, kidney issues, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medications.
